New Orleans, La. – Loyola director of athletics and wellness Dr. Michael Giorlando has been named GCAC Athletics Administrator of the Year.

- Loyola’s Giorlando and Brock honored by LABC
New Orleans, La. – The Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches has recognized Loyola’s men’s head basketball coach Dr. Michael Giorlando and also player Ryan Brock for their outstanding performances in the 2008-09 season. Coach Giorland received the 2009 Louisiana Small College Coach of the Year award while Brock was named Louisiana Small College Player of the Year.

- Loyola’s Brock garners All-Louisiana
New Orleans, La. – Loyola’s Ryan Brock has been named second team All-Louisiana by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association for the 2008-09 season. Brock is the first player in Loyola men’s basketball history to receive All-Louisiana honors.

New Orleans, La. – The Clarion Herald has named Loyola sophomore Ryan Brock to the All-Decade boy’s basketball team. The team consists of high school players of local archdiocese schools who played in the years 2000-09.

Kansas City, Mo. – Loyola forward Ryan Brock was named All-American Honorable Mention by the NAIA for the 2008-09 season.

New Orleans, La. – Two Loyola University New Orleans men’s basketball players, juniors Matt McCabe and Nick Tuszynski, were recently named to the 2008-09 NAIA Men’s Basketball Daktronics Scholar-Athletes list.

- Cold Shooting Dooms Wolfpack in GCAC Quarterfinal Loss
New Orleans, La.- Loyola’s men’s basketball team shot 31.7% in the game and only hit 28.6% from deep as the Wolfpack fell to the Belhaven Blazers 63-57 in the GCAC Tournament quarterfinals Thursday night at The Den. Wolfpack center Darrinton Moncrieffe set a conference record with ten blocked shots in the game.
