Mon, 03/29/2010

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Due to electrical problems at Striplin Field on the campus of Birmingham Southern College, tonight's game between Loyola and BSC has been moved to historic Rickwood Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Rickwood Field is the oldest surviving professional baseball park in the United States. Built for the Birmingham Barons in 1910, the venue has a rich history serving as home for the minor league Barons and the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro Leagues. Rickwood Field is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Tomorrow's game between the two schools will be played, as scheduled, at Striplin Field at 3:00 p.m.
