ATLANTA, Ga. – Loyola University New Orleans sophomore forward Jasmine Brewer has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Brewer averaged 21.5 points and shot 59.3 percent from the floor last week in a pair of road conference games last week. She added 10 rebounds and five steals for the week. The 5-9 forward also converted on 100.0 percent of her attempts from the free throw line (8-of-8) in the 82-57 win over Mobile.
The Houston, Texas native ranks 3rd in the NAIA in field goal percentage (57.7), 23rd in points per game (16.3), 31st in offensive rebounds per game (3.5), ad 31st in total scoring (343). Brewer currently leads the team in rebounds, averaging 7.5 boards per contest.
Catch Brewer and the rest of the Wolfpack as they return to action Wednesday, Feb. 8 when the travel to the University of New Orleans. Tipoff is set for 5:00 p.m. CT.
