WASHINGTON D.C. - Loyola University New Orleans sophomore Jasmine Brewer was named to the Women’s Basketball Jesuit Honor Roll for the week of Jan. 16- Jan. 23, as announced by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) on Wednesday. This is Brewer’s second honor this week and first this season from the AJCU.
Brewer had a great week for Loyola as she averaged 18.5 points and 12 rebounds in the two games played last week. The 5-9 forward added her fourth and fifth double-doubles on the year. Brewer also converted on 62.5 percent from the floor (10-16) in the 90-84 overtime win at Faulkner.
Last Saturday against Belhaven, the sensational sophomore shot 70.0 percent from the floor (7-10) and grabbed 14 boards, eight of which were offensive.
Brewer ranks 7th in the NAIA in field goal percentage (56.9), 24th in offensive rebounds per game (3.7), and 29th in points per game (15.6). The Houston, Texas native leads the team in rebounds (7.9 rpg) and double-doubles with five this year.
Brewer and the rest of the Wolfpack return home this Thursday when they take on conference rival William Carey University. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT in The DEN.
