NEW ORLEANS, La. - Keiva Council, a junior on the Loyola University New Orleans women's basketball team, added another honor Thursday as she was named on the season's final Jesuit Basketball Honor Roll.

Council earned the designation due to her play during the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament, held from March 2-5. During that time, the Wolfpack women's basketball team defeated Shorter and Lee in the quarterfinals and semifinals before falling to Southern Poly in the tournament's championship game.

The guard from Houston, Texas scored 20.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.7 assists per game to earn the honor. She shot 27-for-36 from the free throw line to help bring the Wolfpack to the title game.

On the season, Council led the 'Pack in scoring, assists, steals and blocks, and she was second on the squad in rebounds. Council was named to the SSAC's All-Conference and All-Academic Teams this season.

The Jesuit Basketball Spotlight pilot project is a nationwide effort to bring greater positive awareness to Jesuit education and mission. This project was developed by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) in response to member institutions wanting to spread the word of Jesuit higher education through the more than 90 basketball games in which Jesuit institutions play each other (men and women) this year.
