WASHINGTON D.C. – Loyola University New Orleans senior Keiva Council was named to the Women’s Basketball Jesuit Honor Roll for the week of Feb. 20 through Feb. 26, as announced by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities on Wednesday. This is Council’s seventh honor this season from the Association, and it is the second consecutive week she has been named to the Women’s Jesuit Honor Roll.
The four-time Jesuit Honor Roll, two–time Jesuit Player of the week and preseason All-Jesuit Watch List honoree continues her banner of a senior season for Loyola where she leads the team in points (22.9 ppg), assists (3.6 apg), and steals (2.2 spg). Her 22.9 points per game ranks second in the NAIA, while her 618 total points ranks third. The 5-8 guard also ranks nationally in seven additional categories: 15th in three-point field goals made per game (2.3), 20th in total three-point field goals made (63), 30th in defensive reboudns per game (5.8), 31st in three point field goal percentage (44.9 percent), 42nd in field goal percentage (44.9 percent), 45th in assists per game (3.6), and 49th in total assists (97). Council is also ranked third on LU’s all-time scoring list with 1,793 career points as well as third in individual season scoring with 618 points this year.
Council finished her regular-season career at Loyola strong as she recorded a game high 29 points against Mobile last Saturday, leading the Wolfpack to a 73-62 victory. It was her sixth game to score 25 or more points this year. The Houston, Texas native also added nine rebounds, eight assists, three steals, and a block.
