Tue, 03/20/2012

Kansas City, Mo. – On Monday, the NAIA announced that 55 Division I Men's Basketball student-athletes have been named 2011-12 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, including Loyola’s very own Dylan Kremer.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

The accolade marks the second straight year that Kremer has been named a NAIA scholar athlete. Dylan was also announced to the 2011-12 All-Academic Team at the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament banquet on Feb. 29.

Kremer, a finance major, just wrapped his final season with the Wolfpack, in which the team won their first SSAC West Division Title. Dylan scored 87 career points with the ‘Pack, recorded a career high 14 points vs. St. Thomas in his junior year, and averaged 2.77 points as a senior. In his final campaign, Kremer shot 52% from the floor and 38.5% from beyond the arc. In addition, he was a great offensive and defensive spark off the bench, providing solid contributions in the ‘Pack’s victories over Auburn Montgomery on Jan. 28 and Belhaven on Feb. 16.
