ATLANTA, Ga. – Loyola University New Orleans sophomore forward Jasmine Brewer has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Brewer averaged 18.5 points and 12 rebounds in a pair of games last week. She had double-doubles in both games played for her fourth and fifth double-doubles on the year. The 5-9 forward also converted on 62.5 percent of her attempts from the floor (10-16) in the 90-84 overtime win over Faulkner.
On Saturday against Belhaven, she shot 70.0 percent from the floor (7-10) and grabbed 14 boards. On the week she had 24 rebounds, eight of which were offensive.
The Houston, Texas native ranks 7th in the NAIA in field goal percentage (56.9), 24th in offensive rebounds per game (3.7), and 29th in points per game (15.6). She also leads the team in rebounds averaging 7.9 boards per contest.
Brewer and the Wolfpack return to action Thursday, Jan. 26 when they host conference foe William Carey at 5:30 p.m. CT in The Den.
