(Westwego, La.) The Loyola University New Orleans baseball team completed the series sweep of Rust College with a 27-0 victory Saturday afternoon at Segnette Field.
Philip Cazayoux, Karson Cullins, and Bradley Brunet each went 3 for 3 on the afternoon. Cullins finished with two home runs on the day both came in the second inning. He drove in six runs and scored three. Brandon Snow also added a homer to the Wolf Pack offense.
Four Loyola pitchers combined to shut out the Bearcats, while giving up only two hits and striking out five. Jared Belmonte (1-0) was credited with the win. He retired all six hitters he faced and fanned two. Rust fell to 0-3 on the season.
The Wolf Pack (3-0) travels to Stillman College for a weekend series in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Friday’s opening game will start at 2:30 p.m. with a Saturday double header slated for 1 p.m.
