Kentwood Springs Student Athlete of the Week

(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans volleyball player Eva Allen has been named the Kentwood Springs Student Athlete of the Week for the week of November 17.

Allen, a junior from Oakland, Calif., guided the Wolf Pack on offense this past week at the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Championships in Montgomery, Ala. She recorded a blistering 21 kills on Thursday when Loyola upset Brenau University in five exhilarating sets in their first game of the conference championships. She also came up strong defensively, tallying 17 digs against the Golden Tigers. Allen added nine kills and eight digs against College of Coastal Georgia on Friday, and she also notched 10 kills and and seven digs in the Pack’s final match of the season against Dalton State College later that afternoon. Allen was named to the Second Team All-Conference at the SSAC Banquet held on Thursday night. She led the SSAC in total kills this year, accumulating 387 in the regular season. This is her third Kentwood Springs Student Athlete of the week nod for the 2014-15 season.

The Kentwood Springs Student Athlete of the Week is awarded to Loyola student athletes who exemplify Ignatian values through excellence in the classroom, in the community and in competition.
