(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans women’s golfer Sarah-Anne Smurlick has been named the Kentwood Springs Student Athlete of the Week.
Smurlick led the Wolf Pack at the 2014 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship with a three-day total score of 247. She tied for 66th individually. Smurlick recorded a 79 on the second day of tournament action, the lowest round of the three day tournament for any Loyola golfer. She shot an 83 on the opening day of the national tournament and an 85 to conclude tournament action. This season, Smurlick was honored as the 2014 SSAC Newcomer of the Year. Additionally, she was named to the 2014 SSAC All-Conference Team, the Emmanuel Spring Invitational All-Tournament Team, and the “BUC” Tournament All-Tournament Team.
The Kentwood Springs Student Athlete of the Week is awarded to Loyola student athletes who exemplify Ignatian values through excellence in the classroom, in the community and in competition.
