Laviolette and Krtalic named Daktronics Scholar-Athletes

Cristiana Krtalic and Joshua Laviolette were named Daktronics Scholar-Athletes

(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans tennis players Joshua Laviolette and Cristiana Krtalic were named to the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete teams.

In order to be named to the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete teams a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

Krtalic, a native of New York, New York, secured one singles victory and two doubles victories during her junior campaign. She played primarily in the #4 singles spot and on the #2 doubles team for the Wolf Pack.

 Laviolette had three singles victories while playing in the #3 singles spot. The New Orleans native also took home six doubles victories while primarily teaming with David Mayhall on Loyola’s second doubles team. 


Laviolette is a senior biochemistry major while Krtalic is working on her degree in mathematics with a minor in economics.

The NAIA honored 119 female and 94 male student-athletes on the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete teams for the 2013 season.
