JACKSON, Miss. - Loyola University New Orleans second baseman Brooks McMinn received a GCAC Gold Glove Award on Wednesday evening, as voted on by the coaches of the conference.
McMinn, a sophomore from Natchitoches, Louisiana, committed only two errors on 153 chances this season for .987 fielding percentage. He is tied for the team lead in assists with 82 and ranks sixth in the GCAC in assists per game at 1.95.
At the plate, McMinn is batting .304 with 22 RBI for the Wolfpack and leads the team with four home runs.
Loyola has now had a Gold Glove winner in three consecutive seasons. Junior Taylor Domengeaux won in 2008 for shortstop while sophomore Brien Delahoussaye took home the award last season at first base.
