(Montgomery, Al.) Loyola University New Orleans freshman Julia Falco competed at the Southern States Athletic Conference Golf Championships held on Monday and Tuesday at Wynlakes Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama.
Falco posted a total score of 191, which was good for 34th place in the 45 person field. She tallied a first round score of 95 before totaling a 96 in the final round.
Falco participated against golfers from Lee University, Mobile, Coastal Georgia, Spring Hill, William Carey, Emmanuel, Faulkner, Truett-McConnell, and Southern Wesleyan.
This was the third and final match of the 2013 golf season for the Wolf Pack after they attended the Carey Collegiate Classic and the Spring Hill Badger Invite. This is the first year of Loyola’s women’s team, and the school will be adding a men’s squad for the 2013-2014 school year.
The 200 acre championship course at Wynlakes Country Club features rolling hills, 14 lakes and large oaks with dangling moss. The golf course, designed by world renowned architect Joe Lee, opened in 1986 and was renovated by Billy Fuller and re-opened in 2006.
