Loyola’s Julia Falco earns Champions of Character Award

Julia Falco was named a Champion of Character

(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans freshman golfer Julia Falco earned the NAIA Champions of Character Award for the Wolf Pack which is handed out at the end of the year by the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Falco, a forensic chemistry major, joined the Wolf Pack from Fontbonne Academy in Stoughton, Massachusetts. This season, Falco competed in all three tournaments in which the Wolf Pack participated.

“Julia had an impressive debut season. She showed that she has the ability to consistently compete in the SSAC and will be a valuable contributor to the team for the next three seasons,” said head women’s golf coach Lisa Tinkler.

She took 34th place in the SSAC Championship. Falco was the top finisher for the Wolf Pack in all three tournaments. Falco’s best tournament of the campaign came at the Carey Collegiate Classic as she shot her way to a 22nd place finish. Falco made her collegiate debut at the Spring Hill Badger Invitational on March 4th and 5th.
