Loyola’s Katie Broadbent named to NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athlete List

(New Orleans, La.) Katie Broadbent of Loyola University New Orleans was recently named to the 2012 Daktronics Scholar Athlete list by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics in the sport of volleyball.

Broadbent, a junior right side from Roseville, California, appeared in 12 matches for the Wolf Pack in 2012. She had a season high six kills against Tougaloo on October 9th. She had two blocks in three matches this past season. Broadbent is majoring in accounting.

Student athletes are nominated by their institution’s head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status in order to qualify for the honor. It marks the seventh straight season that the Loyola volleyball team has had at least one player make the scholar athlete list.
