(Mount Vernon, Ga.) Loyola University New Orleans baseball team’s doubleheader against Brewton-Parker College was rained out on Friday, April 18th. The two teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 19th with a start time to be determined on Saturday morning.
The teams were scheduled to play two games starting at 2 p.m. on Friday. That was supposed to be followed by a single game on Saturday starting at 12 p.m. Instead, there will be a doubleheader on Saturday, weather permitting.
Brewton-Parker (27-9, 16-7) came into the weekend in second place in the SSAC standings, 1.5 games behind Faulkner for the regular season crown. Loyola (25-21, 11-13) is tied for 10th with Auburn-Montgomery. Mobile and William Carey are tied for the last two spots that qualify for the conference tournament at 13-11. Bethel is 12-12 coming into the weekend.
After this weekend, Loyola will play their last midweek game of the season as they head to UNO to face off with a NCAA Division I opponent on Wednesday, April 23rd starting at 6:30 p.m.
