Alexandria, La.- Loyola dropped a non-conference double header to LSU-Alexandria 8-3 in the first game and 4-1 in the nightcap at Generals Field on Wednesday.
In the first game, the Generals scored four runs in the first inning and starting pitcher Devin Evans pitched six solid innings for the victory.
Evans gave up three runs, two earned on six hits and struck out four to improve his record to 3-2 on the season. The Generals had 12 hits in the game with three each coming from Cullen Vujnovich, Tid Hilger, and Hunter Decell. Decell scored two runs and had three runs batted in.
Loyola starter Trey Campeaux (2-4) took the loss. The junior right hander went three innings and gave up four runs on five hits and walked three. Philip Cazayoux led Loyola at the plate going 2 for 4.
In the second game, LSUA starter Aryo Fleming pitched a complete game one hitter, striking out eight as the Generals took the sweep 4-1.
Flemming (2-3) held the Wolfpack hitless until two outs in the sixth inning. Taylor Domengeaux broke up the no hitter with a bounding ball over the third baseman’s head. The Generals had 10 hits in the contest.
Carl Labit (3-2) took the loss for the Wolfpack as he gave up four runs on eight hits in four innings of work.
Loyola (13-27) will travel to Montogmery on Friday night and face off against Auburn-Montgomery in a three game SSAC series. First pitch on Friday is slated for 6 p.m. Saturday’s double header will start at 1 p.m.
