Loyola Baseball Loses Belhaven Finale

JACKSON, Miss. - The Loyola University New Orleans baseball team finished their three game set today, as they could not pull off the series win with a 2-5 loss to Belhaven today. The Wolfpack fall to 9-5, 1-2 in conference play.

Mathew Guerry (1-2) pitched six innings this afternoon and gave up two earned runs on nine hits. Trey Campeaux followed suit with a two inning no run performance.

Brandon Snow and Harold Toscano provided the run support for the ‘Pack as Toscano went 2-3 with a RBI and Snow went 1-4 with one run scored and one RBI. Anthony Asta also had a solid day at the plate going 2-4 with one run scored.

The Wolfpack were up 2-1 after two innings before the Blazers tied it up in the fifth. Then Belhaven added one run in the seventh and two runs in the eighth, as Loyola could not come back and counter the deficit for the win.

The Wolfpack return home February 24, when they host Shorter in a three game set at Segnette Field. Game one is Friday at 6 p.m. with a double-header on Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m.
