Loyola Baseball to Support Wounded Warrior Project, Military Friday Night

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Loyola University New Orleans baseball team will honor the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) and Military personnel by wearing camouflage uniforms this Friday night in a conference tilt against Southern Poly Tech at Segnette Field with first pitch slated for 6 p.m.

Fans can obtain the game worn camo jerseys by silent auction with proceeds going to the WWP. Bids will be accepted at the game on Friday night or can be taken over the phone or email by contacting Brett Simpson, Associate Athletic Director at 504.864.7396 or bsimpson@loyno.edu. The auction will close at the conclusion of Friday night’s game.

"This is our way to show support and give thanks to the commitment of those in the armed services. Many of our players and staff have loved ones who are currently serving or have served in the past. We hope that those in the community will come out to this event and help us raise awareness for a worthwhile cause,” said Loyola head coach Gee Cassard.

Other promotions surrounding Friday’s game include $1 admission for any Military personnel and Veterans. Tickets for the general public are $6. Senior citizens and children between the ages of 12-18 are $3, while children under the age of 12 are free. There will also be $1 hot dogs at the concession stand.

Founded in 2003, the Wounded Warrior Project’s purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured service members and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.
