New Orleans, La. – The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team defeated cross-town foe Dillard University in three sets, 25-20, 25-18, and 25-19 on Thursday night.
Loyola improved to 26-7 overall, including a 7-7 mark in conference play. The Wolf Pack extended their win-streak to 11 matches, just one victory shy of the 12-match run Loyola recorded in 2002.
Pacing the attack for Loyola, sophomore Lauren Brand and senior Kailey Tuthill each notched seven kills, while freshman Kaitlin Mohr added six. Junior Sabrina Stansberry and freshman Eva Allen rounded out the offense with five kills. Senior Samantha Worsham tabbed two blocks and Brand had one. Both Worsham and sophomore Becca Burnett each tallied one service ace on the night.
Loyola will travel to Montgomery, Alabama to compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament with eight other SSAC teams. The tournament is scheduled to take place from Thursday, Nov. 8th to Saturday, Nov. 10th with game times to be determined.
