Central, SC. - Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team was victorious in five games against Southern Wesleyan University, 25-15, 25-19, 21-25, 21-25, and 15-12 on Saturday afternoon.
Loyola took the first two sets from the Warriors before dropping the next two games. The Wolf Pack then came back to defeat Southern Wesleyan in the final set. Loyola improved to 14-6 and 4-6 in conference play.
Freshman Lauren Brand led the strong attack with 15 kills, while freshman Katie Hamilton had 14. Junior Sabrina Stansberry and freshman Kaitlin Mohr each chipped in 11. Defending the back court, sophomore Becca Burnett recorded 32 digs and senior Samantha Worsham added 17. Brand also notched two blocks at the net and Worsham tabbed one.
The Pack will travel to Mobile, Alabama on Tuesday to play conference leader Spring Hill University, slated for 7pm. Spring Hill is currently receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll and is undefeated in the SSAC with an 11-0 record, 22-3 overall.
