New Orleans, La.- Loyola University New Orleans will host a postgame fireworks promotion after the Friday, March 23 baseball game against Auburn Montgomery at Segnette Field.
Segnette field is located behind the Alario Center off the Westbank Expressway in Westwego. First pitch between the Wolfpack and the Warhawks is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The event is a collaboration between the sophoMORE Initiative, the Student Government Association, Mission and Ministry, Loyola Alumni Association, and Athletics and Wellness. Loyola faculty, staff and students can purchase tickets prior to the event for $5 which includes admission to the game, transportation from campus as well as food and drink. Tickets for the Loyola community can be purchased in the Danna Center on campus. Buses will begin to load at 5 p.m. in the turnaround by Carrollton Hall on the Loyola campus.
Admission to Loyola baseball games for the general public is $6 for adults. Senior citizens, military, and children between the ages of 12-18 are $3. Children under the age of 12 are free.
“We’re appreciative to the groups on campus who are assisting with this effort that allow us to have fireworks on March 23. Not only are we looking forward to the Loyola community coming out to support our team, but we hope that our fans on the Westbank and metro New Orleans area can make it to Segnette as well. It’s going to be a great evening,” said Loyola head baseball coach Gee Cassard.
