(New Orleans, La.) The Loyola University New Orleans (6-9) women’s basketball team will look for revenge against Dillard University (3-13) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16th at the Battlefield.  The two teams faced off on December 8th with the Bleu Devils coming away with a 62-47 victory over the homestanding Wolf Pack.

Shayne Charles led the Wolf Pack in scoring in their previous encounter with the Bleu Devils by tallying 16 points, but the team as a whole had a rough game shooting.  The Pack hit only 21% of their shots and only 7% after halftime.  Loyola led going into the half 30-24, but made only two field goals in the second half.  Shea Collins had 24 points and Jazzmin Smith had 20 in the victory for Dillard.

The Wolf Pack have bounced back from some early season missteps and have won three of their past four conference games.  However, Loyola lost their last game 80-70, a road tilt against the University of Mobile.

Jasmine Brewer leads the Wolf Pack this season by averaging 16.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.  Janeicia Neely has also been great averaging in double figures while dishing out 4.1 assists per game which is fourth in the SSAC.  Megen Berner is second on the team in scoring and rebounding with 11.3 and 7.1, respectively.

The Bleu Devils are led by Smith who averages a team high 16.4 points a night.  Alena Evans is Dillard’s top rebounder with 7.0 a game, while scoring 12.9 points a contest.  Collins averages 10.4 points a night for Dillard.

The Bleu Devils have lost six of their last seven games, with their lone victory in the stretch coming over Edward Waters (Fla.), 64-58, on January 7th.
