Loyola men’s golf adds Kyle Szyhowski

(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans head men’s and women’s golf coach Lisa Tinkler has announced the signing of Kyle Szyhowski to the Wolf Pack’s signing class of 2013.

Szyhowski joins the Wolf Pack from DeSmet Jesuit High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Kyle started playing golf his freshman year at DeSmet and has improved dramatically in his four seasons.

Last May, Szyhowski became the 2012 East Missouri Optimist Champion. The DeSmet golf team won every tournament this past season thanks to the play of Szyhowski, which helped the Spartans to a first place finish at Districts.

Szyhowski also exhibits what Loyola looks for in a student-athlete as he has received the Scholar Athlete award at DeSmet all four years in high school.

“I am excited to add Kyle to the Wolf Pack golf team. He picked up golf later than most, but has shown a great aptitude for the sport. I think he will make a great addition to the team, plus it doesn’t hurt to have another Missourian on the Wolf Pack golf squad,” said Coach Tinkler.

Szyhowski will join the 2013 signing class which currently includes three other members. Keith Burkard, Cody Leis, and Hunter Crochet make up the first signing class in the Loyola men's golf program.
