Daniel Kuhl led the Wolf Pack attack, but the team fell to SUNO

(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans fell 67-55 to Southern University New Orleans on Thursday afternoon in The Castle.

Daniel Kuhl had 15 points to lead the Wolf Pack scoring effort as he hit 5 of 9 from the field including two three pointers. McCall Tomeny fell one rebound short of a double double as he finished with 14 points and a team best nine rebounds. Kyle Simmons contributed 11 points, while Jalen Gray dished out a career high six assists.

SUNO was led by Kevin Dukes and Broc Willis who both finished the game with 17 points. Willis also had six rebounds, three blocks, and three steals. Merlin Walker chipped in 10 points. Joe Brown had a game high 10 rebounds.

The Knights were able to take an early lead in the game and led 30-19 at halftime. Loyola’s second half charge came as they shot 60% for the half, but it wasn’t enough to overcome 24% shooting in the first half. SUNO shot 42.9% for the game. However, they turned the ball over 10 times while Loyola coughed up the ball 19 times. Loyola outrebounded SUNO 36-35.

The Wolf Pack will return to action with a conference road trip. They will play Emmanuel on January 11th at 6:30 p.m. followed by a January 12th contest against Southern Wesleyan at 4 p.m.
