Jaron Belcher and the Wolf Pack saw their season end on Friday due to rain

(Montgomery, AL) Due to inclement weather the SSAC tennis championship tournament schedule has been modified. The top seeds will advance to the semifinals of the tournament.

The men’s team was scheduled to play Auburn University at Montgomery at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, but weather prevented all the quarterfinals from taking place. The matches were scheduled for the Lagoon Tennis Center in Montgomery, Alabama. The cancellation of the match and advancement of the top seeded Warhawks means that Loyola’s tennis season comes to a close.

The Loyola men’s team advanced to the quarterfinals as they won the first round matchup over Emmanuel College on Thursday evening. The 5-4 victory over Emmanuel was the first SSAC tournament victory for Loyola in the three year history of the men’s program. The men’s team set the record for most victories in a season as they went 5-11. The women’s squad tied the four win mark of 2010 and 2012 with a 4-12 season. The women’s team fell 8-1 to Spring Hill in the first round of the tournament on Thursday.
