Loyola men look to bounce back in tilt against Mobile on Saturday

Both Loyola University New Orleans (9-7, 4-3) and University of Mobile (9-6, 3-4) look to bounce back from tough losses when they face off against each other on Saturday, January 12 at 5:00 p.m. in Mobile. 

Loyola is coming off two straight losses heading into the clash against Mobile. They lost a tough four point game to Southern Wesleyan before dropping a 19 point decision to #6 ranked William Carey. Robert Lovaglio scored 15 points in the losing effort, which brought his career total to 972 points. He needs 28 points to become the 25th player in school history with 1,000 career points.

The Rams will also be looking to get back on the winning trail after letting a 20 point lead slip away against #23 ranked Faulkner. Mobile jumped out to a 24-4 lead in the first half but fell 55-57 to the home standing Faulkner squad. No player scored in double figures in the game for the Rams.

Lovaglio is the team’s leading scorer this season averaging 22.9 points a game while pulling down 7.3 rebounds a game. McCall Tomeny leads the team in rebounding with 7.4 a contest, he also averages 14.7 points per game. Kyle Simmons is 10th in the conference in assists while averaging 10 points a game.

Kwame Beard leads the Rams in scoring with 15 points a night, but he is followed closely by teammate Chris Richardson who scores 14.8 points a game. Dominick Brumfield is the third Mobile player in double figures with 12.8 points a contest while also securing a team high 8.4 rebounds a game.

The conference standings have Loyola in fifth place and Mobile in sixth place heading into the matchup.
