Thibodaux, La. – The Loyola University New Orleans women’s tennis dropped an out of conference match on Friday afternoon against Nicholls State, losing 7-0 at the Colonels Tennis Complex.
Loyola (3-7) was scoreless in doubles play for the first time this season, dropping all three games 8-0. Nicholls State (8-6) dominated the single sets as well, shutting out the ‘Pack in four of the six matches.
Sophomore Katie Beargie picked a pair of games in the first set against the Colonels’ Karla Quintanilla before being defeated 6-2, 6-0. Frances Sweeney was the only other player for the ‘Pack to win a game, losing 6-0, 6-1 to Tatiana Denezhkina.
Loyola is back in action on Saturday with a GCAC matchup against William Carey. First serve is set for 2 P.M. at the Goldring Tennis Center on Tulane’s campus.
