SIOUX CITY, Iowa. – Loyola University New Orleans volleyball player Ashley England was recently named to the 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athlete list as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
England, a junior middle blocker from Morgan Hill, Calif., is majoring in English and international studies. On the court, she finished the season with 127 kills and was second on the team with 87 blocks. She currently ranks fifth all-time at Loyola with 220 career blocks.
This marks the fifth straight season that the Loyola volleyball team has had at least one player make the scholar athlete list.
Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.
