(New Orleans, La.) The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team will host their final home match of the season when they take on Spring Hill College on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. in The Den.
The Wolf Pack (8-17, 5-7 SSAC) is coming off a split weekend, earning a victory over Avila University and falling to Xavier University in their senior day doubleheader. Sophomore Kaitlin Mohr combined for 24 kills between the two matches. Sophomore Eva Allen tallied a total of 23 kills on the day while junior Lauren Brand added 17. Allen remains the team leader in kills for the season with 236 and aces with 35. Freshman setter Daniela Leal paces the squad in assists with 786. Junior libero Becca Burnett anchors the defensive effort with 315 digs.
The conference leading Badgers (25-3, 10-0 SSAC) defeated Southern University New Orleans on Tuesday. Junior Megan Haber leads Spring Hill offensively with 327 kills to date. Seniors Meredith Donald and Sha Sha Buchanan steady the defense, leading the Badgers in digs and blocks respectively.
Earlier this season, the Wolf Pack fell to the Badgers in three sets. Allen recorded nine kills on 21 attempts for a .381 hitting percentage, while senior Katie Broadbent added five. Leal posted 19 assists. Freshman outside hitter Molly Griffin ignited the Badgers offense, turning in 13 kills and posting a .667 hitting percentage. Haber tacked on eight.
