(New Orleans, La.) The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team will close regular season play when they travel to the University of Mobile on Thursday, Oct. 31 for a 7:30 p.m. match.
The Wolf Pack (9-18, 5-8 SSAC) forced their first five set match of the regular season when they edged Southern University New Orleans on Saturday. Sophomore Eva Allen tied her season best 16 kills against The Knights. Her consistency has kept her at the top of the Pack in kills with 263 and aces with 36. Freshman setter Daniela Leal posted a career high 57 assists versus SUNO. She paces her squad with 868 assists on the year. Senior Sabrina Stansberry aided the offense with 11 kills, one block and three block assists on Saturday. She remains first in blocks for the Pack with 55. Junior Becca Burnett leads the Loyola defense with 342 digs.
Mobile (18-12, 9-3 SSAC) is coming off a three set loss to rival Spring Hill College. Sophomore Bailey Nations fuels the offense for the Rams with a team leading 349 kills. The defense is anchored by junior Katy McCollister who racked up 296 digs to date.
The last meeting between the Rams and the Wolf Pack resulted in a 1-3 loss for Loyola in The Den earlier this month.
