Loyola volleyball downed by conference leader Spring Hill

(Mobile, Ala.) The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team dropped a three set match to SSAC leader Spring Hill College 11-25, 14-25, 10-25 at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center this evening.

The Wolf Pack (3-11, 1-2 SSAC) managed to record 24 total kills on the night. Sophomore Eva Allen contributed nine on 21 attempts for a .381 hitting percentage, while senior Katie Broadbent added five. Freshman setter Daniela Leal posted 19 assists.

Freshman outside hitter Molly Griffin dominated the Badgers offense, turning in 13 kills and posting a .667 hitting percentage. Current kill leader junior Megan Haber tacked on eight. Spring Hill (17-3, 4-0 SSAC) recently received 56 votes in the 2013 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.

Loyola will return to action for a back-to-back conference weekend in The Den as they host Emmanuel College on Friday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. and Southern Wesleyan on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m.
