(Mobile, Ala.) The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team fell to the University of Mobile 16-25, 15-25, 20-25 in their final regular season match of the season.
The Rams (19-12, 10-3 SSAC) proved to be a tough match for the Wolf Pack (9-19, 5-9 SSAC) offense as Mobile outhit Loyola .404 to .145. Sophomore Eva Allen posted six kills, two assists and one ace to pace the attack. Junior Lauren Brand and senior Sabrina Stansberry added five kills apiece. Defensively, both teams were evenly matched, tallying five blocks per squad. Sophomore Kaitlin Mohr posted the Pack’s biggest numbers at the net with two blocks. Junior Becca Burnett steadied the defense with nine digs.
Sophomore Bailey Nations went 16 for 18, racking up a .536 hitting percentage. Junior duo Sara Van Wert and Maegan Wilkins turned in 11 kills each. The Rams and the Wolf Pack earned two aces each.
Loyola will open postseason action on Nov. 7 at the SSAC Tournament in Montgomery, Ala.
