(New Orleans, La.) The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team is eager to continue collecting victories as they host a doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 19 featuring a morning matchup with Avila College at 10 a.m. followed by a 2 p.m. contest with local opponent Xavier University in The Den. Wolf Pack seniors Katie Broadbent, Libby Collyer, Shelby Plant and Sabrina Stansberry will be honored for their Loyola volleyball career accomplishments prior to the start of the 2 p.m. match.
The Wolf Pack (7-16, 5-7 SSAC) is coming off two consecutive wins, the most recent coming in a Monday night match versus Belhaven University. Sophomore Eva Allen sparked the offense with 13 kills, adding to her team leading 213 kills on the year. Allen paces the offense, ranking first in service aces as well with 31. Sophomore Kaitlin Mohr and senior Sabrina Stansberry combined for 21 kills against the Blazers. Stansberry remains a strong defensive force at the net with a team-high 48 blocks.
Avila College (6-16, 0-5 HAAC) visits The Den following an 0-3 loss to Haskell University. Freshman Danielle Kaullen drives both sides of the game for the Eagles, securing the team lead in kills with 159 and blocks at 56.
Entering The Den after a 3-1 victory over Mobile, Xavier University (15-7, 6-0 GCAC) will look to Taylor Reuther to guide the Gold Nuggets. Reuther tops the team in kills (306), aces (32) and digs (293).
