Loyola volleyball set for conference road trip

(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans volleyball will open conference play this weekend on the road with back to back SSAC matches as they take on Faulkner University on Friday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. followed by a trip to Brenau University on Saturday, Sept. 14 slated for a noon CDT start.

The Wolf Pack (2-8) is coming off a loss to Southern University New Orleans, but looks to bounce back with wins in their first two conference matchups. Sophomore Eva Allen paces the offense with 93 kills and 16 service aces on the season. Senior Sabrina Stansberry holds strong at the net with 22 total blocks while sophomore libero Kaylin Storey leads the defense with 127 digs.

The Faulkner Eagles (4-5) most recently defeated Talladega in three sets. Kelsey Bell leads the squad with 100 kills and 15 service aces. Alysa Klassen sits atop the leaderboard in blocks with 23.

Brenau (2-3) will see action versus Belhaven University Friday evening before they take on Loyola on Saturday. The Golden Tigers’ senior Ellen Lemos leads the attack with 67 kills on 155 total attempts for a .277 hitting percentage. Junior Rachel Adam commands the team lead in blocking with 26 total, averaging 1.3 blocks per game.
