(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans volleyball coach Margot Frederick announced the signing of Daniela Leal to the 2013 recruiting class.

Leal prepped at Coral Reef High School in Miami, Fl. where she earned four varsity letters under head coach Yazmin Ortiz. She received First Team All-County honors in 2012 and 2013 and was named Player of the Year for volleyball following her senior campaign. Leal led her team to its first ever State Final Four. Her high school career numbers include 1,386 assists, 357 kills, 61 blocks, 151 aces and 381 digs.

"Daniela stabilizes our team at the setting position for the fall and her true value will stem from the intangibles she adds,” said Frederick. “She has a great enthusiasm for this opportunity. I'm eager to see how quickly she can advance her skills during her career with us. Her athleticism will shine immediately as will her ability to be a good teammate."

Leal is the third member of the 2013 signing class for the Wolf Pack as she joins Wren Overesch and Katie Philippi.
