NEW ORLEANS, La. – Loyola head volleyball coach Tommy Harold announced the signings of Sabrina Stansberry from St. Joseph’s Academy in Baton Rouge and Katherine “Kaki” Johnson from Johns Island, South Carolina.
Stansberry, a two year volleyball letterman, led her high school team to district and state championships in both 2008 & 2009. She was named All-District and Honorable Mention All-Metro (Baton Rouge) in her senior year. She is expected to play middle blocker for the Wolfpack next season.
“We’re extremely excited to have Sabrina join our program,” said Harold. “She is an exceptional athlete and leader. She will be an excellent addition to our program and to the Loyola community.”
As well as leading her team on the volleyball court, Stansberry was also a letterman and served as a captain in both basketball and track.
Johnson, a 5’7 libero, prepped at James Island High and was a two year volleyball letterman at NCAA Division II Converse before committing to join the Wolfpack.
“As the team moves forward into next season, we will continue to put an emphasis on defense and I think Kaki’s style of play and experience on the court will help push us to new heights,” said Coach Harold. “I am excited about the energy she brings with her on the court and could not be happier signing a player who also works as hard in the classroom. She will be a great fit for the Wolfpack.”
In addition to volleyball, Johnson competed in cross country and track at James Island High and was a member of the National Honor Society.
