(New Orleans, La.) The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team swept conference-foe University of Mobile in three games, 25-13, 25-22, and 25-12 on Tuesday night at The Den.
Loyola notched their fifth consecutive victory, improving to 6-7 in the Southern States Athletic Conference and 20-7 overall. Mobile dropped to 22-9 overall and 7-5 in conference play.
Freshman Katie Hamilton celebrated her birthday by leading the attack with 13 kills. Offensively, senior Samantha Worsham recorded 24 assists and sophomore Becca Burnett had three service aces. Defensively, Burnett tabbed 11 digs on the night, and junior Sabrina Stansberry added five blocks at the net.
Kiara Gay led the Rams’ offense with 10 kills and Sara Van Wert had seven. Defensively, Gay also led with six digs, while Nicole Armstrong and Courtney Fenwick each had five apiece. Disah Kolassiba and Reagin Boggs notched 21 assists.
The Pack will head to Jackson, Mississippi to compete in the Millsaps College Tournament. On Friday, they will play Huntingdon College at 4pm followed by UT Tyler at 6pm. Saturday Loyola will face LeTourneau at 10am and will finish the tournament with host Millsaps College at 4pm.
