(New Orleans, La.) The Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team will complete a three-game homestand on Tuesday, Nov. 26 when they face Louisiana College at 5:30 p.m. in The Den.
The Wolf Pack (4-3, 2-2 SSAC) defeated #20 Southern Polytechnic State University on Saturday afternoon in a 75-73 second half comeback, handing head coach Kellie Kennedy the 100th victory of her Loyola career. Junior Janeicia Neely paced the Pack with 23 points and six assists against the Hornets. She currently leads the team in both categories, averaging 16.29 points and 4.29 assists per game. Freshman Kylah Jones notched a career high 16 points. Senior Jasmine Brewer contributed 14 points to the win and collected a team high nine rebounds. She leads her squad on the glass, pulling down 7.57 boards per contest.
The Wildcats (1-0) held off Millsaps College in their home opener on Nov. 18. Junior Karylon Thornton led the scoring effort for Louisiana College, posting 14 points. Freshman Natosha Morvant earned a double double, scoring 12 points and securing 12 rebounds. Additionally, Morvant recorded two steals. Fellow freshman Karli West rounded out the top scorers for the Wildcats with 12 points.
