(New Orleans, La.) The Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team will resume play following the holiday break as they host Dillard University on Monday, Dec. 30 at 5:30 p.m. in The Den.
The Wolf Pack (6-6) will look to surpass the .500 mark when they take on the Bleu Devils. Junior Janiecia Neely holds the team lead in points per game (14.83) and assists per contest (4.08). Neely is knocking down 44.5% of shots taken from the field. Senior Jasmine Brewer steadies the rebounding effort, notching 7.83 boards per night, and paces the Pack in steals with 22 on the season. The block is powered by freshman Meghan Temple who has tallied 10 stuffs in her first year with Loyola.
The Bleu Devils (0-4) are searching for their first victory of the season. Sophomore Alena Evans commands her squad, averaging 11 points, 6.75 rebounds and .75 blocks per night. Junior Brittany Smith has recorded 14 assists and 14 steals this season.
Loyola defeated Dillard 77-62 earlier this season and will aim to sweep the season series Monday evening. The women’s contest will be followed by the Loyola Wolf Pack men as they face Dillard at 7:30 p.m.
