(Kansas City, Mo.) The Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team earned a No. 15 ranking on the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Postseason Top 25 Poll.
This marks the first time the Wolf Pack claimed a spot on a Top 25 list this year. Loyola earned 31 votes in the final NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll of the 2013-14 season.
The no. 15 ranking ties a program best for the Pack, as they ranked 15th in the final NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll of the 2007-08 season. This is the first time Loyola ranked in the postseason polls since the inaugural postseason poll in 2011-12.
No. 15 Loyola and No. 16 Bethel were the only newcomers to the Top 25. The SSAC teams entered the national championship as No. 7 seeds before knocking off the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds from their respective quadrants en route to the quarterfinals.
The Wolf Pack finished the season 23-12, securing a SSAC West Division Regular Season Championship and a trip to the NAIA National Tournament quarterfinals.
