Selma, Ala.- Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball improved to 4-0 on the season as the Wolfpack defeated Concordia-Selma 73-41 on Monday evening.
Loyola led 32-23 at the half and took control of the contest, opening the half with a 23-4 run. The Wolfpack outscored the Hornets 41-18 in the second stanza.
Rachael Nolan, who has scored in double figures in all four games this season, led with 16 points. Keiva Council added 14 points. Jasmine Brewer tied a career high with 12 points and Adrienne Easley set a career mark with 11 points. Easley scored 9 points in the second half. Each player on the Loyola roster scored in the contest.
“I thought it was a great team effort. We really came out and played exceptionally well in the second half. I thought Adrian Easley gave us some great minutes scoring 9 points in the second half. She also helped out in the first half when we were in some early foul trouble. Again, tonight we allowed our defense to work for us and that was key to the victory. We feel fortunate to get two road victories on this trip,” said Loyola head coach Kellie Kennedy.
Loyola will be back in action on November 19 with a 5:30 p.m. start at Brenau. They will also be on the road November 20 against Truett-McConnell with start time slated for 2 p.m.
