(New Orleans, La.) The Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team will hit the road on Saturday, Jan. 4 as they travel to Texas to take on the University of St. Thomas Houston at 4:30 p.m. at the Aldine ISD Campbell Center. This will conclude non-conference action for the Pack this season.
The Wolf Pack (7-6) snapped a four-game losing streak with a dominant 89-40 victory over Dillard University Monday evening. Senior Jasmine Brewer earned top scoring honors for Loyola with 15 points, shooting 50% from the field and going three for three from the foul line. Brewer paces the Pack in rebounds and steals, averaging 7.92 boards and two takeaways per game. Junior Megan Whittaker was the second highest scorer with 14 points, while junior Janeicia Neely and sophomore Shayne Charles turned in 13 points each. Neely is averaging 14.69 points and 4.15 assists per contest. Junior Callie McNally leads the blocking effort for Loyola with 10 on the season.
The Celts (6-7) fell to Texas State University 45-85 on Sunday. Posting 14.46 points, 10.31 rebounds and 2.85 blocks per game, senior Chelsea Davis commands her St. Thomas squad. Sophomore Kristin Lee aids the offense with 40 assists on the year. Junior Emily Sebo is tallying two steals per game.
Loyola leads the overall series record versus St. Thomas Houston, 2-0.
