(Kansas City, Mo.) The Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team received three votes in the most recent NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.
Today marks the first time this season the Wolf Pack (13-7, 7-3 SSAC) has received votes in the poll. The last time the Loyola women’s basketball program received votes in an NAIA poll was Oct. 23, 2012 at the start of last season.
The Pack ranks 12th in Division I in total three-point field goals made (137), 13th in three-point field goal percentage (35.0), 13th in defensive rebounds per game (29.5), 16th in total rebound offense (875) and 17th in three-point field goals made per game (6.85).
Loyola has defeated four ranked teams this season: #20 Southern Polytechnic State University, #23 Emmanuel College, #23 University of Mobile and #24 Lyon College were ranked as such at the time of each Wolf Pack victory. The Wolf Pack has won seven of their last eight contests. Additionally, senior captain Jasmine Brewer was recently named the SSAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Loyola is scheduled to take on their next ranked opponent, #16 Bethel University, this Saturday following a Thursday evening 5:30 p.m. tipoff with Jesuit rival Spring Hill College.
