(Kansas City, Mo.) The Loyola University New Orleans women’s golf team received 13 votes in the latest NAIA Women’s Golf Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. This marks the first time the team has received votes this season and in program history.
Last week, the Wolf Pack placed first out of nine women’s squads in the Emmanuel Spring Invitational, defeating No. 7 College of Coastal Georgia. As a team, the women shot 346 on the first day of tournament action and improved to 342 on day two.
All five women who participated in the tournament for Loyola placed in the top 10 individually. Freshman Alexis Hazard tied for second with a two-day score of 166. Freshmen Sarah-Anne Smurlick and Megan Keck closed the tournament in fifth and sixth, shooting 173 and 176 respectively. Freshman Julchen Narwark ended knotted in seventh with a 177, and sophomore Alexis Vega finished tied for 10th, shooting a 93 on day one and scoring an 86 on day two.
The Wolf Pack women will visit the No. 10 women’s squad of Embry-Riddle University on Saturday, April 5 through Sunday, April 6 in Daytona Beach, Fl.
