Loyola women’s hoops acquires more votes in NAIA Coaches’ Poll

(Kansas City, Mo.) The Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team received a season-best 45 votes in the most recent NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. This is the sixth consecutive week the Wolf Pack has received votes.

Last week, the Wolf Pack received 29 votes. Loyola garnered 45 nods this week after defeating Blue Mountain College and clinching the SSAC West division.

Loyola (20-10, 14-6 SSAC) ranks 9th in Division I in total three-point field goals made (214), 15th in three-point field goal percentage (0.342), 16th in three-point field goals made per game (7.133) and 19th in defensive rebounds per game (29.1).

The Wolf Pack has won 14 of their last 18 contests including 12 against conference opponents and four versus ranked squads. Over the course of the season, they have been victorious over the following teams who were ranked as such at the time of each victory: #18 Bethel, #20 Southern Polytechnic State University, #23 Emmanuel College, #23 University of Mobile, #24 Lyon College and #21 Martin Methodist. Head coach Kellie Kennedy has led Loyola to four 20-win seasons in her first six years with the Pack.

Loyola will travel to Montgomery, Ala. this week to participate in the SSAC Championship Tournament with their first game set for 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 6.
