(Kansas City, Mo.) The Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team received three votes in the most recent NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. This is the third consecutive week the Wolf Pack has received votes.
Last week, the Wolf Pack received four votes, earning one more vote than the previous week. Loyola garnered three nods this week after falling to Belhaven University and defeating Martin Methodist College.
Loyola (15-9, 9-5 SSAC) defeated their fifth ranked team of the season on Saturday when they upset #21 Martin Methodist on the road in a 57-54 victory, avenging a three-point loss to the RedHawks at home in mid-January. Martin Methodist now sits 22nd in the rankings following the Loyola defeat.
The Pack ranks 11th in Division I in total three-point field goals made (168), 18th in three-point field goal percentage (34.1), 19th in three-point field goals made per game (7.00), and 20th in scoring margin (9.79).
The Wolf Pack has won nine of their last 12 contests including seven against conference opponents and three versus ranked squads. Over the course of the season, they have been victorious over the following teams who were ranked as such at the time of each victory: #20 Southern Polytechnic State University, #23 Emmanuel College, #23 University of Mobile, #24 Lyon College and #21 Martin Methodist. Additionally, senior Jasmine Brewer was recently named to the 2014 Allstate WBCA Good Works Team.
