(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball coach Kellie Kennedy announced the signing of Caroline Gonzalez, a 6-2 post player from Colleyville (Texas) Heritage High School. She is the first signee to the Wolf Pack’s 2013 class.

“We are so excited about the addition of Caroline Gonzalez to our program. She is going to be a tremendous part of our future success. She comes from a winning high school program at Colleyville Heritage. Caroline can really shoot the ball which will give us many options offensively. She will also provide some needed size and rebounding,” said Kennedy

Gonzalez, a three year letter winner, averaged 11.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. She converted 46% from the field, 35% from behind the arc and 78% from the free throw line in leading Heritage to a District Championship this past season. She was selected to the 2012 All Tournament Team in the Katy Nike Classic and was Honorable Mention All-District last season.

Last summer, Gonzalez played for Cy-Fair Dallas Blue. She averaged a double double 12.2 points and 14 rebounds per game. She scored 20 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in a game for Cy-Fair.

Loyola returns to action on Saturday as the Wolf Pack will host their last home game of the season. The Pack will face Faulkner with tip off in The Den slated for 2 p.m. The Lady Eagles are currently ranked 16th in the latest NAIA poll.
