(New Orleans, La.) The Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team will make a short haul to face their next opponent when they take on Tulane University in an exhibition matchup on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 4 p.m. in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
The Wolf Pack (6-5) dropped a close contest to Southern University New Orleans on Friday night, falling 63-70 to the Knights. Despite the Loyola loss, senior Jasmine Brewer recorded a double double, tallying 10 points and 10 rebounds. She leads the Pack with 85 boards this season. Junior Janeicia Neely posted 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals versus SUNO, recording her 100th career steal. Neely is averaging a team best 15.73 points per game, 4.27 assists per contest and has notched 21 steals on the year. Freshman Meghan Temple earned a career high two blocks against the Knights. She paces the Loyola blocking effort with eight stuffs in her debut season.
The Green Wave (4-3) is coming off a 52-62 loss to Auburn University. Junior Jamie Kaplan secures the scoring effort for Tulane, averaging 12.3 points per matchup, and paces the squad with 42 assists on the season. Junior Tiffany Dale is averaging a team-high nine rebounds per game. Freshman Leslie Vorpahl has notched nine steals in her first season with the Green Wave.
