NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team (3-3, 1-1 SSAC) will be on the road this weekend for a pair of Southern States Athletic Conference games. On Friday, the Wolf Pack will face Lee University (5-1, 0-1 SSAC) in Cleveland, Tennessee, and conclude the trip on Saturday at Southern Polytechnic State University (5-0, 2-0 SSAC) in Marietta, Georgia.
Loyola is coming off a win against St. Thomas- Houston 74-59 in The Den last Saturday. Junior Jasmine Brewer scored a game high of 20 points and equaled her career high of 16 rebounds. It was Brewer’s third double double of the season. Senior Megen Berner added 14 points in the win over the Celts.
The Lady Flames are coming into the weekend after defeating Trevecca Nazarene 71-65 on the road on Tuesday. Lee leaders sophomore Jenna Adams scored 28 points and junior leading scorer Hollie German with 15. Tip off for Friday is set for 5:30 p.m. Lee is ranked No. 9 in the NAIA preseason poll.
Southern Poly is coming off a 5-0 start to their season, 2-0 in conference play. In their last game, Poly defeated Vorhees 95-59 with four players scoring double digit points. SPSU’s leading scorer is Sarah Ogoke, who is averaging 15.6 points per game. Start time on Saturday is set for 2 p.m.
